From their website:
At Bath University Cycling Club we cater for all types of rider.
We lead Road, Cross Country and Downhill rides every Wednesday throughout term-time, with rides split into ability based groups. We have regular Road,Cyclocross and Mountain Bike rides on the weekends throughout term time.
At Bath Uni CC there is no pressure for anyone to make the team, we just like to see like minded people riding bikes and having a good time. Any member of the club can buy our awesome kit. However, we look to give maximum opportunity and support for those who are driven to compete through our performance squads.
We currently have student performance squads for both Road and Cyclocross that compete at local events. However, we subsidise race entries for the most enthusiastic riders through the club; whether that be someone competing for race wins or simply someone looking to get over the hurdle of entering their first race.
We have a very strong women’s squad who race regularly. The girls from the cycling club have been making a serious impression on the local scene with a series of wins and other notable results in events at Castle Combe, Odd Down and others. Our women’s team powered their way to 3rd at theBUCS 3up TTT in April.
Beyond the race oriented squads, we offer support to newer riders with more experienced members offering advice, encouragement and coaching. Towards the start of term, there will be Learn to Mountain Bike, Learn To Group Ride and Learn to Maintain Your Bike sessions aimed at building proficiency and confidence to make riding safer and more fun for everyone.
